Thanks for all the replies

That photoshopped idea wouldn't work though as the seat is where the controller is, that area's simply too small to fit anything in there. And I was planning to fit the controller (and maybe even charger) where the tank is.

The specs of the battery says it doesn't require any topping up of water, so I just assumed that meant it wasn't flooded.
It claims a silicone solution that suppresses sulfation.
This is the page if anyone's interested, everything's in japanese though.

I guess I'll give them a call and ask if it's ok before proceeding any further. Though I might not have the space for the 3rd battery at all. Made a mockup mount for the engine, and it pushed the batteries forward slightly. I've not made the battery trays yet, but after considering the cabling and insulation, it looks rather tight.

I bought an NSR 80 to convert but decided to go with a bigger bike.

My only question is would it be a bad thing to have 1 battery lying flat instead of sitting upright?
Like this?

I see the guys beat me to that answer too. So how 'bout this:

Move everything down so that the motor is inline with the swingarm then put the third battery up on top and the controller in back.

The .psd file is in that same directory if anyone else wants to play with it.

It's a really SMALL bike but I'd still like to have 36volts in it.

Nice helmet and cape.

Glad you joined the list! I was reading your blog just the other day. Well, the English part anyway.
