Hello,
Several
Thanks Paul.
I would be honored to serve as the chairman for Logging Services
project.
Let us wait to see whether my candidacy is endorsed by the other
committers and whether there are other candidates.

Thanks Scott. The only active committer we are missing is Jacob. (Mark
is away this week.) I'll take the liberty to update the wiki page of
the proposal.

Michael,
Thank you for your vote of confidence. Could you be kind enough to give
your opinion on the C++ ports of log4j, including log4cxx? Why are there 3
of them?
Thanks in advance,

Hi,
I'm the developer and maintainer of a log4j sister project: Log4PHP.
After reading the initial draft and ml comments I give my "+1" to the LS

Since log4php is a pure port of log4j it's not a problem for me to change the
license.
However, I have some questions:

Hi all,
+1 on behalf of log4net.
Interoperability with log4j is something we have been working towards for
some time now. We have it for some protocols, but not for others. A single
apache PMC seems the best way to achieve this.
Log4net is already Apache licensed so that is not an issue.

If no-one has any objections, I am going to place a link within the left

I will also update the entry within the download page to display some
new information and a link to the above page.

This summer, my company asked me to look for a logging framework in
order to ingrate it into our product.
I needed a logging framework in C++, so I took a look at log4cpp and
log4cplus.
Log4cpp is licensed under the LGPL, which was not suitable for my company.
Logcplus is licensed under the APL,

probably our bad, I need to get a 1.3 JDK installed to help with this.
In the mean time, do you have a compile error output you could shoot to

Having said that, Chainsaw is way better on 1.4.2, while we do want to
maintain at least 1.3 compatability, 1.4.2 is the way to go on the
client side.

Currently we have the SettingsManager and associated event objects which
are used to save/load Application wide events. However currently all
the LogPanel settings are saved via standard Serialization. This tends
to be easy to do, but brittle as we add more information to the savable
entity.
