Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] LXAppearance/Openbox integration is finished!!
Great job! It's incredible, the goal is doing a better OS, but maybe we'll improve a desktop more gorgeous than Gnome! Even there're publications over there (in some blogs) that recommends using LXAppearance instead of Gnome's. Al 07/08/10 16:12, En/na PCMan ha escrit: Since LXAppearance now supports plugins, it’s possible to add new features to it with third party plugins. Today I ported the GUI configuration tool for OpenBox obconf to LXAppearance. Now a plugin for seamless OpenBox integration is available. A picture is worth a thousand words: http://blog.lxde.org/?p=788 No additional dependencies are added to LXAppearance. You get this “Window Border” page and the openbox support only when the plugin is installed. In addition, the plugin won’t be loaded if openbox is not in use. Perfect! The source code is here for the brave: http://lxde.git.sourceforge.net/git/gitweb.cgi?p=lxde/lxappearance-obconf;a=summary Note: Ubuntu 10.04 users cannot get this correctly compiled and linked due to a bug of Ubuntu 10.04. The bug will be fixed in Ubuntu 10.10. So don’t bug report to me if it doesn’t compile/link on Ubuntu 10.04. That’s normal. Hi Julien, > == Testing needed == > We'll appreciate some feedbacks about the followings recent additions : > - The slideshow, especially the text, to be able to start translation. I made notes quickly as the (very attractive) slideshow went by. Here are the things I noticed. Remember, I don't speak English; I'm an American. :-) - Speaking of Chromium, the word "developed" is mis-spelled, with two "p"s. - The phrase "more informations" showed up. The word "information" is always singular. Some information. Lots of information. Many pieces of information. Etc. :) - The phrase "fast videos player" showed up. The "video" here should be singular in this case. The program is fast at playing videos, which makes it a fast "video player". - Inconsistent use of periods at the end of sentences. Some pages have them, others don't. Looking at a regular Ubuntu install, they use the periods always. Hope this helps. If I could look at the text while it's not moving past, I could maybe do a better job. Where does one find the text of the slideshow? And if there is any other text which you'd like proofed, let me know. American English is one crazy language. It still boggles my mind that the words "flammable" and "inflammable" both mean exactly the same thing! :-) Regards, Bob ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop Post to : lubuntu-desktop@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] Lubuntu Maverick Alpha 3
Hi Julien, Sorry to haunt you, but a bit of good news :-) the down load to my computer and the upload to the server went well. It has been checked : the download has just finished, the speed was between 250-270, didn't get > below 250 The download time from the server was about 35 minutes (beggars can not be choosers). The md5checksum is okay. I've added that server as 'Secondary Server' to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Lubuntu/Developers when ever you wish to alter the links over, it is good to be switched :-) I've amended the notes for checking the iso and CD.
