Bit delayed in thanking you for these Screecasts. I have tried them with a
couple of novice users and they thought they were great and a lot easier
then trying to follow written instructions. Thanks and well done.

Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] Lubuntu Screencasts

2010-03-30 Thread PCMan
A link on the desktop should be enough. Please don't include this in
the distro. The space should be left for language supports IMO. So
people can get a fully translated desktop after installation. This is
very important. If some language supports are not installed, the user
will get English user interface after installation. However, those who
need the language support most are the one who don't understand
English. If they don't understand English, how can they know how to
get network configured, get online, and install the remaining language
support via the tools with English UI? Since we have much space, I'd
suggest include all language support given they are not too big. Of
course, we don't need language files of gnome. So some dependencies
might need to be changed.

Hi,

very nice videos. I was thinking about the inclusion of videos in the
distro. However, this contradicts with the goal of keeping the distro
small. Would it be an alternative to offer a separate (optional)
package with support videos for download through the repository as
well as via the site?

What do you think?

Good idea.

It could also be host in lubuntu.net (if we have the space) and adding a
bookmark in the browser to link to them.
