I have and do use the multiboot system for Clonezilla, Gparted, CD
rescue disk, Perisitent Mint 9 (I think) all on one 4GB USB and it is

Finally got a Live USB to have good graphics and clean dialog boxes
for the install.
Here were my steps:
zsync today's iso..
Placed the iso on the USB with dd command
sudo dd if=quantal-desktop-powerpc.iso of=/dev/sdb
Got into OpenFirmware with Power-Option-Apple-O-F all at pretty much same t

Yeah as long as you have internet (ethernet) having b43-fwcutter and
firmware-b43legacy-installer already installed will allow you to get the
firmware. Of course if you have working ethernet connection you could get
them with Synaptic.

As I was testing tonight and checking out the forums, I ran across the
normal tester who has nVidia graphics and issues with getting cleanly
through plymouth and into the live session without the black & white
art deco freeze. Well I explained that the nomodeset kernel setting
would get a live ses

are looking good for next weeks testing.
Only issues I see are the nVidia problem which requires nomodeset on

to install the encrypted entire drive with ubiquity on a Lubuntu Desktop
amd64 12.10 current daily build 20120827.. Well even on my Lenovo with
nvidia-xorg issues I did complete the install and now I am thinking about

if we should concentrate our efforts on desktop testing and not alternate
isos. I know Lars and I are not having much luck with the
