Apart from only minor differences, the two versions do indeed appear to
be identical. I would however disagree with you on the matter of the
hands. Apart from the rhythmic notation ('grids' on 34r, single flags
on 35v), the writing seems to be identical. Notice
Sarge Gerbode has a cleaned-up version of the facsimile on his site, you may
compare it with what you have access to

This is available from the LSA Microfilm Library now. Cosens has some
really nice music in it. My favorite is the Frog Galliard, with some
interesting divisions.

I have a film and a paper copy of the book - which should not be called Cosens
Lutebook.
As far as I remember it does not contain any music for the bandora. I will
check my database which I can't access now.
