Hello: Is it possible to change the top margin for one page only in lyx/latex? I googled and found package(s) changepage/chngpage. But this seems to allow changing the side margins only as I understand correctly. Also found that the \newgeometry command of the geometry package can be used. But

If you read the output from latex (yes, there's a lot of output and quite little of it is relevant), it will tell you when it needs to be rerun. LyX catches those messages and runs latex again, until the number of latex runs is exactly sufficient to produce the final output. Not always.

Actually, it doesn't work with these two packages... :( My new theory is that it's connected with the math font. I can produce the error with a very small document just same text + math. Everything seems to work with a figure... Any ideas? How can I handle with math font problem? Thanks! --

Hey there, I have a highly customized LaTeX preamble. Now the file won't compile unless I put the packages in the right order. For example, I need to use \usepackage[adobe-utopia]{mathdesign} before I can use \usepackage{amsthm} \usepackage{amsmath} How can I do that with LyX? I couldn't

Following the instructions in Help-Specific Manuals-Multicolumn Manual, I placed the ERT commands \begin{multicols} {2} and \end{multicols} around a body of text that I wanted to appear in double columns. The script doesn't run and the following message appears: Errors: LaTex Error: Environment

upgrade but keep customized stationery

After upgrading from version 1.6 to 2.0 (Windows Vista), I no longer have access to the words the system recorded whenever I checked spelling and told it to "Add" a word it flagged as misspelled. I have no idea where those words were stored. Is there a way I can get version 2.0 to use them? Any
