Hello! I'm trying to write a letter using the DIN-Brief-template provided with LyX. My system locale is EN, the letter is supposed to be German. The trouble is that the layouts MyRef and YourRef produce unwanted (or even wrong) outputs, i.e. Ihre Zeichen, Ihre Nachricht von and Unsere Zeichen,

Can partly confirm on MacBook Air 10.9.2. Judging from Console there seems to be some font problems with messages on the form: 2014-04-25 19:26:32,724 lyx[33795]: CoreText performance note: Client called CTFontCreateWithName() using name Courier New and got font with PostScript name

FYI, these look like problems when running the LyX's configure script. One possible casue is some kind of incompatibility in python versions. But it is hard to know for sure. I'd definitely suggest trying to run LyX from a terminal and seeing if you get more info. Richard
