I have this in a Makefile to create pdf output with nomencl, maybe it
works for you:
meth.pdf:
lyx -e latex meth.lyx
latex meth.tex
makeindex meth.glo -s nomencl.ist -o meth.gls
lyx -e pdf2 meth.lyx

You should take a look to the latex package nomencl. It automatizes the
glosary creation.
- you have to include nomencl in the preamble
- you insert ERT for each definition anywere in the document ...

start the user interface in other language than english, I would like to
start it in spanish, particularly.
I have tried:
setenv LANG es
lyx
and it doesn't work ...
