I am trying to use the greek alpha in an illustration produced by XFig.
I used
$\alpha$
in the text,
exported it from XFig as
combined PS/LaTeX (both parts)
and inserted the fig-file in the lyx document.
the illustration in the pdf output of the document shows, however,
not a greek alpha, as
