Lyx HTML conversion problem - while using polynom package
When I use polynom package in lyx. The html output does not show that parts where macros from polynom package is used. For example, if I have something lik \polylongdiv{x^2-2x+1}{x-1} When I convert lyxt to pdf, there is no problem. Only html does not work. I assume, it should convert these instances to images, which it does not. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Since, I am stuck at this and can't move on. -- View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/Lyx-HTML-conversion-problem-while-using-polynom-package-tp4854375p4854375.html Sent from the LyX - Users mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Is this LyX 1.6.x or the alpha release of 2.0? Either way, what HTML converter are you using? It sounds as if it is either elyxer or, if you're in 2.0, then LyX's native XHTML output. If you're using elyxer, then there is not really anything you can do. elyxer's math support is pretty basic; it doesn't even support all of the constructs that are available in LyX. It certainly does not support arbitrary packages, such as polynom. You might therefore want to uninstall elyxer (I'm sorry, but that is what you would have to do), reconfigure LyX, and try using htlatex, which has its own issues but handles math better, since it does it all via images. (Of course, that can lead to scaling problems, etc, but at least you get decent output.) If you are using 2.0, then you will run into the same problem right now, since XHTML support is not yet complete. Eventually, however, LyX will do precisely what you suggest: If it encounters something that it doesn't understand, then it will output an image. There's nothing stopping elyxer from doing the same, of course, so it that is what you are using then you might want to report the issue to the elyxer developer. Richard

Re: Problem with Lyx multirows
I'm in the process of writing my thesis in Lyx, but I'm pretty new to it. I've been having some problems with creating multirows in tables. I tried to follow the instructions fromhttp://wiki.lyx.org/LyX/Tables, but can't get it to work in my own lyx document. Whenever I want to watch the PDF view an error saying Undefined control sequence pops up with the followingdescription: \multirow {2}{2.5cm}{multi row} \tabularnewline The control sequence at the end of the top line of your error message was never \def'ed. If you have You need to declare the multrow package. In Documents-Settings--Preamble write \usepackage{multirow} Yes, see also the EmbeddedObjects manual that you find in LyX's help menu for a detailed description. The next major LyX release LyX 2.0 will support multirows directly so that you don't have to use TeX- and preamble code anymore. regards Uwe @ Ingar: LyX needs your translation help. LyX 1.6.6 comes out in 2 weeks and perhaps you find the time to update no.po and/or nn.po.

Alternating Context in a Beamer Presentation
I am putting together a beamer presentation in which I alternate between a running example and the theory behind the example. How can I get this to reflect in the slides? Ideally I'd like something like Theory to appear on theory slides and Example on example slides. Section headings won't really do the trick because of the alternation. If that's not possible (or even if it is) is there a way to get Lyx to change the background color of a slide or some other cue to let the audience know? thanks
