Bibliography question
I've recently upgraded my Lyx to 1.1.6 and I have the following problem with inserting bibliography citations. Let's say I have a master document with several chapters as sub-files inserted to it. I put the BibTex generated references in the master document. Now in sub-files, when I want to add a citation, I can't since the BibTex references are inserted in the master doc and aren't viewable by sub-files (all of the files are open). In previous versions, I had the option to type in the index of the citation (assuming that I know it) in sub-files. LaTex would find it and create the correct citation reference. In "Insert > Citation Reference" of 1.1.6, I can't type anything in (it should be taken from the existing list). My question is: should I use Tex to insert citations or there is another way to do this? Thanks, M

Section Numbering and Face.
I am writing my thesis in LyX and I have to stick to the thesis guidelines of Graduate School so here is what I need to do: Sections should not be bold. I change the face from Layout > Font, but the number, i.e. 0.1 remains there and it is in bold. Moreover, I need to have the section title in the center (subsections must be left justified). Another question is how do I set the page margins? I have tried but it does not let me set them. May be I need to try milimeters? Thanks, Remzi

Hi, I want to change float numbering: from "Table 1" into "Table S1" etc. from "Figure 1" into "Figure S1" etc. So all numbers must get a certain prefix ("S" in this example). Is it easy to define this prefix somewhere in the document? Thanks, Rob.

dead keys in 1.1.6
Hello all. I have recently experienced some problems with lyx-1.1.6 handling of dead keys when using a national (czech.kmap) keybord lyx layout. When pressing dead key acute there appears only a mark for footnote and for dead caron there appears a space. This behoviour appears on both RedHat linux 6.2/7.0(XFree4) i386. I have tried binary distribution (rpm) and also the one compiled from the sources - all with the same result. I should also note that all previous versiton up to 1.1.5fix2 work flawlessly. LyX compiled, wrong version of xforms (was: Re: error compiling 1.1.6-1.src.rpm)

An AMD K6 is a 'i586' as far as I know. Anyway, doing a "rpm --rebuild --target i568 (or i686) lyx-1.1.6.src.rpm" gives a: "Cannot open i586, file not found" With "rpm -bb lyx-1.1.6.spec" compilation succeded. Now the problem. I've installed the freshly build lyx-1.1.6.rpm (together with tetex-lyx). When I try to run LyX, the program complains following: "You are either running LyX with wrong version of a dynamic XForms library or you have build LyX with conflicting header and library (different versions of XForms." I have xforms-0.89. Isn't that a right one? Do I have to install 0.88-9 and recompile lyx? Re: LyX 1.1.6. does not launch on OSF
Hi I got a similar behavior on my PPC . The problem was not with the ~/.lyx directory, but with the /usr/local/share/lyx directory. I configured LyX 1.1.6 with the --with-lyxname=STRING, and it creates a "STRING" directory in /usr/local/share, but seemed to use the "old" /usr/local/share/lyx dir when launched. Note that the application name was still lyx and not STRING. May be I missed the point ( and lost my "old" LyX binary). Anyway, renaming my old /usr/local/share/lyx directory solved the problem. Hope this could help you. Alain P.S. suggestion : Is it possible to suggest, in the INSTALL file, a COMPLETE procedure to install concurent versions of LyX (e.g. to test a new release before switching). This could help stupid users (like me) :-) *** *Alain Castera* * LPNHE - Tour 33 RdC | e-mail : [EMAIL PROTECTED]* * 4 Place Jussieu | Telephone : (+33) 144274187 * * 75252 Paris Cedex 05 | Fax : (+33) 144274638 * * France| * *** On Fri, 19 Jan 2001, Peer Frank wrote: > Hi LyXers ! > > still/again trying to get the thing going.
