This is a bit off topic, but it I am trying to get
some bibliographic stuff into a LyX document.

Does anyone have a bibtex example with a conference
proceedings? In particular I am trying to save the proceedings using
@proceedings, and then refer to it with @inproceedings.

Put a space (with a Control-Space) in a Date layout paragraph.

Graphics suppress new page in output

2001-08-04 Thread Laurie Savage

Included graphics are suppressing the page advance when I print a
document.

Example: 3 page document.
Put graphic on page 1 -> the document prints only on one sheet of paper
- but each page of text overprinting.

Put graphic on page 2 -> page one prints ok, page 2 & 3 overprint on the
second page.

Put graphic on page 3 -> document prints all three pages!

Line spacing within figure float captions

2001-08-04 Thread Alex Casti

Hello. I wrote an "article" style document in 12pt font, double-spaced,

using lyx-1.1.6fix2. What I want is for *everything* to be
double-spaced,
including the abstract, figure captions, and so forth.

Everything looks to have the spacing I want, except that my figure
captions
aren't double-spaced (4 lines per vertical inch), but rather appear to
have
one-half spacing. I have no idea why, unless there is something
inherent
to the caption environment that makes it so.

The Question: How may I set the caption line spacing so that I get
double-spaced caption text?

Thanks,

AC

I don't know if there is a specific LyX command; in LaTeX, I'd use

\vspace*{\fill}
\hspace*{\fill}text\hspace{\fill}
\vspace{\fill}

for vertical (vspace) and horizontal (hspace) centering.

I hope this helps.

look at your example.
there are different sizes, used by latex when you have equnarray or
array.

I have fixed some bugs in sgml2lyx, but now since sgml-tools version 1 is
dead I don't expect more bug fixes to it.

I could have a look but that is very low priority in my todo list.

And as you know linuxdoc has become obsolete with the support for docbook
from the Linux Documentation Project.

Vertical Centering of a Title Page

2001-08-04 Thread Michelle Dukich

 Greetings:

I am trying to center a title page. I used a \pagebreak command to put just
the title on the first page, but I need to have it centered. Can someone point
me to what I need to do? Most of the LaTeX books I have only talk about
horizontal centering.

Thanks in advance.

equation array and delimiter problem

2001-08-04 Thread Michael Koundouros

hi folks!

see attached files.

"equation array" was input using the equation array utility (Ctrl-enter)
"matrix" was input using a 2x3 matrix within a delimiter.

looking at the ps file you will see the equation in the matrix is rather
squashed. what I would like is the equation to look like in "equation array"
but to have the delimiter and numbering of the "matrix" equation.

Does anyone know how to do this as I was unable to insert a delimiter in
"equation array".

thanks for the help
