You can always specify a blank date (a protected space in the Date paragraph
style).

Nested input of LyX files

2001-09-28 Thread Guenter Milde

I wonder, whether there is a simple possibility to have nested inputs of LyX
documents. This would open a handy way to structure large projects in
several layers (master and sub-master, so to say).

I just tried

  light.lyx inputs
 red.lyx
 green.lyx inputs
   green1.lyx
   green2.lyx
   test.eps (as floating pic).

However, the nested inlcusion of lyx documents did not work:

Latex Error: file green1.tex not found.

I tried both, \input and \include: \include cannot be nested by default
(LaTeX limitation) but you normally can have nesting of \input commands,
however I suppose LyX handles only one level of \input-ted LyX-files.

(It is not very urgent, however.)

Table caption

2001-09-28 Thread Markus Mohr

Hi!

I'm using 1.1.6fix3 with Debian/unstable. I try to have a table in a
table float with the caption below the table.
When I enter the table directly behind the 'Table:' text, I get:

(Float) Table:tablecaption name

instead of:

(Float) table
Table: caption name

Compiling that leads to two errors:
'Paragraph ended before \@ caption was comlete. \end{tabular}}' and:
'Argument of\@ captionhas an extra }. \end{tabular}}' (btw its a bad
thing that I can't cutpaste from the error boxes).

Putting the caption above the table works.

(Float) Table:caption nametable

leads to:

(Float) Table: caption name

You can do the latter by moving the blinking cursor just after the
Table: text (and before the caption name) and pressing once Enter.
That way you should be able to insert the Tabular before the caption.

numeric citation - bold and abbreviating ranges

2001-09-28 Thread Praedor

I am using a PNAS bst file for my citations in a paper - this is ALMOST fine
except that all the text in the reference is bold, except for journal names
which are properly normal italic. I have also tried creating my own pnas.bst
file using makebst but the results, regardless of what I do, is the same.
Authors, pages, all bold. How does one make the citation text normal weight
and ONLY have the volume number bold?

I downloaded a pnas.bst file from a latex for molecular biologist website but
it does the same thing. This is not correct formatting. Only the volume
number for a journal in the citation/reference is to be bold.

PNAS style citations list the references in the order cited. I have multiple
citations here and there so that I get (1,2,3,4)(4,5,6,8,9,10) and so
forth, when what I would like/what I need is (1-4)...(4-6,8-10), etc. How
does one alter the display of the citations so they cover a range rather than
each and every citation in a range?
