here is my hatchet latex job This requires some mucking arround with some of the settings in the .cls in your preamble or at the start of your document. With the number of mods you want to do it may be worth copying the article.cls file and editing that. as for the size of the section headers

Try tex2pdf, preserves the original jpg images, does the hyperref part for you. I downloaded and tried tex2pdf.. it gives me errors.. btw, from the log file, it seems like it uses pdflatex?? So how would the output be different from the one using pdflatex directly? Just curious.. I'm
