when opening some *.lyx-files using lyx (up to version 1.3.3), lyx
crashed without any notice.
This happens, when you try to open a file located in a directory named
with $ at the beginning (In my case, that was
/home/tweller/Documents/$Tom/ If you encounter the same problem,

I want to have some footnotes in a table.
I've inserted them the normal way but in the DVI file I can only see the
little numbers in the table,but nothing appears at the bottom of the page.
Does anyone know the solution to this problem ?

try to insert \footnotemark in ERT instead of footnote where you want
to add the footnote. After the table put:
\addtocounter{footnote}{-number of footnotes in the table}
for the first footnote in the table put:
\footnotetext{your footnotetext}
and for all the following footnotes:

I seem to be unable to set double spacing in a Revtex 4 Article document.
I get latex errors such as:
Undefined control sequence.
\doublespacing
The control sequence at the end of the top line
of your error message was never \def'ed. If you have
misspelled it
I am trying to put some figures etc into a document
and everytime I try to view the DVI i get error
messages cant convert whatever format to eps. I have
tried heaps of different formats.

1-I put the english dictionary as prescribed in (lyx/lib/aspell and lyx/share/aspell)
but I cannot perform spellchcking.
