I don't get it -- I thought that _you_ were able to install.
Anyway, I am sorry, but I am on Debian, so for me the
installation was just dpkg -i lyx-qt :-).

Those characters showed up in my gnus. The original poster, without

You should consider using "latin modern" or "cm-super" instead of ae (better

Just for the record -- you don't have grep through configure.
It's
I tried building lyx-1.3.3/qt on my new laptop running Slackware-9.1.
Configure worked just fine, once I figured out to use './configure
--with-frontend=qt --with-qt-dir=/usr/local/qt-3.2.2' and it compiled with
no errors.
However, both 'checkinstall' and 'make install' failed with

Just for the record, I grep'd configure and learned that the syntax is
actually --with-frontend=. When I tried it that way (using qt, btw) it
was quite happy.

I'm using Lyx 1.3.2 on Debian unstable and have the following problem
using the koma-script package: headers (parts,chapters,sections,...) are
not numbered within Lyx while the dvi-output is o.k. When using a
different package e.g. article or article(mwart) all headers get
numbered within Lyx as ex
Hi,
I'm a newbie switching from Klyx (Linux x86) to Lyx/MacOSX. I've
installed Lyx 1.3.3. I then downloaded llncs.sty from Springer-Verlag
or CTAN website. I followed the Customization document Chapter 5
exactly to install llncs.sty. No errors during installation.
I lost many document classes

Hi,
I've just started using lyx after having learnt a bit of latex earlier this
year...
I've installed the windows version (not the henstel - the other one) on my
laptop, with the lastest ghostscript, and a version of miktex I was using
earlier this year.
I inserted a colour eps graphic into
