default behaviour of "minipage".
For example, I would like the default width to be fixed to 8 cm and the
alignment to bottom.
Is it possible to hack the config files to obtain that?

Hi all,
I solved the problem. The root cause was that in my .layout file I forgot to
end one or more LyX styles with the End keyword.
If your .layout file seems to be recognized but you don't see your custom
created LyX environments in your LyX environment dropdown, look for an
unended LyX sty

For my thesis, I simply put together an A4 sized page
in gimp, and then inserted it as a graphic into LyX.
Scale to 95% of the page (to be sure it fits) and
surround with page breaks.

I simply inserted an eps file and in ERT I inserted the commands
\thispagestyle{empty}
\newpage
worked for me.
