OK great. I don't know how to solve your problem, but hopefully someone
will come along who can. It seems that you should try to improve your
question asking skills (yes, they are skills and require effort and
practice). You were given some great advice by Steve Litt:
http://www.mail-archive.com/lyx-users@lists.lyx.org/msg89979.html
Unfortunately you have either ignored or forgotten that advice. Please
study it again. I agree that .rar is not a good format to send in. Please
send in tar.gz.

You should *always* include your .lyx file (as small as possible but that
can still reproduce the "problem")

Best of luck with everything!

Xu

So the numbering is correct in LyX and incorrect in the pdf? Could you
please send your .lyx file or just a minimum working example (ie a small
file that shows the problem)? Please send it to the list and not just me. I
don't know much about LyX -- I'm just trying to help you ask for help in
the best way.

Does it only show it wrong in LyX? Or does it also show wrong in the pdf
output?

Numbering by section showed wrong!

2011-11-26 Thread Kenedy Torcatt
Hello LyX Users...

I need to show in my thesis figures and equations by sections, but LyX
is showing them wrong. I mean I activate the module
using: Document→Settings→Modules and add the module "Number equations
by section" and the same for figures, but when
I change a section the figures is not showing from 1 like it should,
For example, ilustrating this:

-Section 1

Figure 1.1

-Section 2

Figure 2.2 ( I need 2.1, then 2.2, .and on)

The same thing occur with equations!
That's the problem I'm facing it...
Please help me with this, should I add some code in the preamble?

Thankyou in advance!

Please check Document>Settings>Math Options, and make sure "Use AMS math

\underset and \overset do not compile

2011-11-26 Thread Màxim Carlavilla Márquez
Hi, I'm a new user of LyX. I use Windows XP and LyX version 2.0.0.

When trying to use \underset or \overset (for instance, \underset{\lim}{t}
both with the command in latex and using the button in the frame
decorations menu), I get the following error message:

$\underset

{t}{\lim}$

The control sequence at the end of the top line

of your error message was never \def'ed. If you have

misspelled it (e.g., `\hobx'), type `I' and the correct

spelling (e.g., `I\hbox'). Otherwise just continue,

and I'll forget about whatever was undefined.

I'm sorry but I don't understand the message. I have also the same problem
with the \overset, \underrightarrow and the \underleftarrow,
\underleftrightarrow commands too, but the rest of frame decorations seem
to work fine.

Thanks for your time,

Maxim

I usually put a 1x2 matrix in the subscript, and it works well enough.

Make that 2x1

Some people used to claim that, if enough monkeys sat in front of

Thanks, Paul. It works when the equation is in inline style, but not
when in display style -- an error is generated while producing the pdf
file. Any ideas?

KOMA book resets the footnote counter at each chapter. If you do not use
chapter and/or want to rest the counter manually, you can do so by adding
\setcounter{footnote}{0}
at the beginning of each article of your proceedings.

Michael,
Wouldn't it be better to use a chapter environment, since the other authors
are probably doing the same, before the book chapters are merged? Or are
you collecting the chapters for the book?
