Hello, Yes, you are right. I did not response to the mentioned message because I did not understand the point. Re: serious bug (fedora issue?)
Hello, What I did last time is the following. However, it seems that the length of the document matters as well as the number of pictures. F7 (at the beginning of the document). At one point it failed. lyx the document in recover more. F7 again. It may fail a bit further. Then I do the same again. But it may immediately fail. Then, I rerun lyx, but not in recover mode. it failed again. Then do it again. and usually it does not fail immediately, and I can run f7 again it I am lucky. I can save the document at each correction until it fails again. When it fails again. I redo the same thing. If I do not run F7 at the begin of the document but close to the previous failure, I may have a chance to reach the end of the document. It is random and painful process. I can try to debug if you tell me exactly what to do. Formula in Section title
Hello, I used to use small formula in section or sub-section title. Unfortunately, if latex manage the font of the Titles (by typically using a bold font) for the regular text, it just use the "standard" font for the formula. The transition from bold to regular is just ugly. Is there a way to coordinate the fonts? Re: replace all
OK Paul, I made a sort file and tested the "replace all" It works, but, it leaves the spellchecker mode at the end, while it could have kept it open, by 1) dealing with the next occurrence to potentially correct (keeping in mind that it will have to deal with all the replacements previously asked), or 2) dealing with all the replacements (like it does now), and then returning to the "beginning" of the document to deal to the next occurrence. Too complicate? Regards. === Patrick DUPRÉ | | email: pdu...@gmx.com Laboratoire de Physico-Chimie de l'Atmosphère | | Université du Littoral-Côte d'Opale | | Tel. issue with bibliography
Hello, I have a file that I created with yje class revtex 4.1 Then, I changed to elsevier At the same time it change the bibliography style Here is the difference: < \textclass revtex4-1 --- > \textclass elsarticle < \cite_engine_type default --- > \cite_engine_type authoryear This creates real problems when I compile. Hence, I returned to revtex 4.1 but lyx keeps the bibliography style < \cite_engine_type default < \biblio_style plain --- > \cite_engine_type authoryear > \biblio_style plainnat There is no way to get rid of the plainnat (and go back to plain) Actually, when I try to change it to plan, it seems that it is done, but it is never really applied. Question. How can I return to plan style, without the variant Author-year? Actually, I cannot remove this option. bbold
Hello, Lyx offers mathbb But il looks like that it does not belong to the package bbold seems this package is not installed. My problem is that the package bbold gives me the symbol that I want (like \mathbb{1}) while, that I get by default with lyx is a bizarre symbol. Would you explain me the logic of this? split viewing
Hello, The split viewing (upper and lower) works well when only one document is open (we can simultaneous access to 2 parts of the document). However, when more documents are opened, then the splitting is weird, mixing of upper, lower, left and right corners. Actually, all the documents are split. Maybe I missed something, but it would be a lot more convenient if we could split the documents one by one, cf, keep a document non split, while another one is split. convert to rtf
Hello, I have one machine with fedora 24 and one with fedora 26 (both with lyx 2.2.3) When I convert the lyx file to a rtf file, it works well on the fedora 24 machine, and it does not work on the machine with fedora 26. In both file .lyx/configure.log, I have the same: \converter latex rtf"latex2rtf -p -S -o $$o $$i" "needaux" What should I check? I guess that the issue may be with the conversion from the lyx to latex. Grammar checking
Hello, lyx offers a language checker, but not a grammar checker. I installed the check-Tex option, but the results are not convincing (at least in English). The suggestion are really poor. Is there any way to install a more efficient grammar checker? To circumvent the problem, I used to generate a rtf file and then to use freeoffice which let me use a grammar checker like LT. However, the generation of the rtf file is really problematic for a scientific document (for example, I have to remove the section, subsection, etc..). Some suggestions? Re: lyx to latex
Thank, But it does not solve my problem: I made the correction in the source file and installed it. In my opinon, there is an issue with lay because. IN my preference It set: File Handling -> Converter: Lyx -> rtf latex2rtf -p -S $$i but when I export (file -> reach Text format, For one file, I obtain a compilation with pdflatex, and the display of the pdf file or with another file: (Not set):1 Error! rtf file must be different from tex file Systemcall.cpp (291): Systemcall: 'latex2rtf -p -S -o "Organisation.rtf" "Organisation.tex"' finished with exit code 1 Error: Cannot convert file An error occurred while running: latex2rtf -p -S -o "Organisation.rtf" "Organisation.tex" 2 questions, Why 2 different things are run? why with latex2rtf -p -S $$i I get latex2rtf -p -S -o "Organisation.rtf" "Organisation.tex" instead of: latex2rtf -p -S Organisation.tex This would not really solve the issue because it could only work if a .tex file exists The converter should do possibly: generate the .tex file and then run the conversion. Why I do not have control on this with the preferences ?
