Thanks for all the replies,

As of not I tried to repalce all the greek alphabets manually and seems to
be working.
Thank god :-)

Any way I will carry on with my documentation without altering the features
in lyx
else I fear that I might land up with troubles ..

I guess Uwe is right that my Lyx version or Latex version is old but
I guess upgrading it now might seem to be risky , as I am new bee to this
editor :-)

any way Thank you all once again

This might be the problem. It seems that your LaTeX installation uses some
 older package versions.

As it is urgent, I recommend to export your document to latex and then ask
LateX colleagues if they can help your making it compilable.

I tried to change the font of all my child documents which I included in
 master file.
All my child document could generate proper pdf document individually.
  But
when I include them in Masterfile1.lyx it is showing a compilation error

 Description :

 ...SD} Modulator using single bit Dither}{62}

I wasn't able to read the size data for this font,

so I will ignore the font specification.

[Wizards can fix TFM files using TFtoPL/PLtoTF.]

So your LaTeX installation misses the LGR fonts. The strange thing is that
 this
font are Greek fonts. But this is normally no problem: If you would work on
Windows and use MiKTeX as LaTeX-distribution, you would open an Internet
connection, view your file as PDF and MiKTeX will automatically install all
packages and fonts used by your document.
As you seem to have a special LaTeX-distribution I cannot help your here.

You might try inserting a different font spec;

e.g., type `I\fontsame font id=substitute font name'.

I am attaching a the main file and one of the subfile.

That is a weird error. It looks to me as if you're either lacking some

When i generate its pdf file it work fine. But when i include this file in

By the way I have not included any preamble nor I am using any packages.
I am using KOMA script. Can anyone recommend any packages that are must

Thank you

Hi everyone,

I am new to lyx. I have created a .lxy file with lot of float figures in it.
When i generate its pdf file it work fine. But when i include this file in
another file (main file) and tried to generate pdf, I have an error

Package caption error: \caption outside float.

Description :

\caption
  {\label{fig:Behaviour-of-IQerror-Dither}Behaviour of Internal
...

By the way I have not included any preamble nor I am using any packages.
I am using KOMA script. Can anyone recommend any packages that are must
to use ? I am doing documentation for master thesis

Thank you

This means that you have used a caption outside of a float either in your file or in the file where
your document is included. Or the include inset is not in the standard environment.

Try putting the included files BEFORE the index and nomenclature things.
You presumably want those at the end of the document, anyway, yes? I
don't know if that will fix it, but it can't hurt.

Set the cursor before the include inset and look at LyX's environment
selection combobox. (The one on the left side of LyX's standard
toolbar.) There you must see "Standard".

If this is already the case, can you send me the master and only one of
the included file?
