IIRC there was an option called "Apply previous change..." or something like it. I always found it confusing because it did not work for me if I wanted to apply it to logical/markup text styles like Code, Noun, ... Interestingly enough the feature that you mention seems to be present in the development version (2.4) in "Edit->Text Properties->Apply Last Settings". In 2,4 the logical/markup text styles are/will be in a different entry "Entry->Custom Text Styles". In my present LyX there is none (LyX Version 2.3.5.2 (Thursday, June 25, 2020)) 2. Suppose I am translating text from German into English. The German figure has in the short title as well as in the legend blue underlined text. To get rid of it after the translation, I do ctr a in the legend > which selects the text. A right mouse click > Language > English UK Now I have to do the same with the short title, since the change in language does not work for the short title, when I do it in the legend. I don't mind to do it for a few legends, but if you have hundred of them, it would be nice to get in the selection the short cut. I just wonder, whether I haven't found the right way of using it; as said already, I am quite sure I had this feature before. Thank you Stephan, I know feel rather silly: since it works for you, I kept insisting, looking at the message log, and I finally realised that I have to let go of the ctrl key after the first G - thanks a million! paola On 15/07/2014 09:56, Stephan Witt wrote: Am 14.07.2014 um 18:11 schrieb Paola Manzini : Hi All, I hope somebody can help - I have searched the message board, but there is nothing recent that I could find to solve my problem. lyx shortcuts in mac os - can't make them work
Hi All, I hope somebody can help - I have searched the message board, but there is nothing recent that I could find to solve my problem. I just moved from Windows to Mac (Macbook pro), on OS Maverick, using Lyx 2.1.0 (April 2014 release). I cannot make most of the shortcuts work. zhaoyunsong wrote: > I am writting to ask if I can define shortcuts that works only in math mode. no. but there has been already such request. hmm thinking more, we have command-alternative, which ends up in the first successfull lfun. so now only some noop lfun returning true in standard environment. the second part will be triggered only in math. this noop lfun could generalized so different environment could be added as argument one argument for negation and we have quite powerful hacking machinery without touching additional code at all ;) feel free to create new enh request in bugzilla pavel
about LyX shortcuts
I am writting to ask if I can define shortcuts that works only in math mode. Or if I can define the same shortcuts for different operations that works in different environment. for example: I want the shortcut "Ctrl+F" to open the "find dialog" in text mode while to insert a fraction in "math mode" thanks

I guess that's what will happen then... Btw, if you want to get an *unnumbered* section, the keyboard shortcut is something like: M-p S-2 which in practice means do the following: * Hold down Alt and press 'p' * Release both keys * Hold down Shift and press '2' * Release both This one is a bit more tricky... especially on a Swedish keyboard, where you for some combinations need to involve the key 'AltGr' in order to get the right effect. cheers /Christian -- Christian Ridderström, +46-8-768 39 44 http://www.md.kth.se/~chr
