So it will be a bit faster, but not that much. This does not look good indeed. I encourage you to create a bug report when this becomes possible again so that the issue does not get forgotten (I cannot investigate this myself, not on macOS). The tab bar in macOS is not rendering fine, as shown in the attached screenshot. This is for LyX 2.3.7 and macOS Sonoma. OTOH LyX 2.4.0 correctly renders a flat tab bar (IMO better looking). On a lot of projects I tried using their bug tracker, and the bug never got addressed because putting in the bug tracker is like sweeping it under the table. By the way, my solution was about 5 lines of CSS. Did anyone thank me? No. They said "put it on the bug tracker." I said "I'm not familiar with the bug tracker, can one of you do it?" The response I got was that I was a lazy free-rider. Bug trackers really do suck.
