Thanks for the suggestions; but I can't get them to work. a. after changing lyx's startup directory away from its bin folder, Lyx won't start at all. b. with both BIBINPUTS and BSTINPUTS set, I sill open the navigation at the bin folder. Can anyone confirm that they can get either of these to
