Not with pdfpages. You need to insert the PDF as a graphic to get this.

I think that the best if I give a example:

In this case, the end of the sentence isn't showed in the above line. Lyx
cut it. The end of the sentence don't appear in any place.

Oh. Not a new feature of 1.6.2? :-)
The language has been set to "latex", which I think needs to be done for
some reason, and of course the spellchecker isn't going to find that.
Cross-posting to devel
Thank you.

Hi,
I am writing to ask whether this is a bug:
When editing text or math, in previous versions of lyx I often used
shift-rightarrow or shift-leftarrow to select text letter by letter.
This does not work for me anymore on lyx 1.6.2, mac os x.

Did you read the RELEASE_NOTES?

Hello,
I'm trying to get LyX up and running, but I'm getting the following error
message:
The required file
tex\latex\ieeetran\IEEEtrans.cls
is missing. It is part of the following package:
Name: ieeetran
Title: Document class for IEEE Transactions
I get the same message
Thanks!
The reference to embedded LaTeX within a document being written with LyX
as "Evil Red Text (ERT)" has bothered me from the first time I saw it. Since
LyX is a GUI front end to LaTeX I fail to see how there's anything "evil"
about LaTeX.
More to the point, looking at how many requests for help

The first question is: Can you compile simple documents using article,
or some other standard class? I'll assume you can. If not, your LaTeX
installation is completely broken.

Could you point me to the places in the manuals where this acronym is used?

I actually like "ERT" because of how it's a connection to the history of
LyX and its origins. :-)

You can use the enumitem package/module, see here:
http://wiki.lyx.org/Tips/Enumitem
If for example you don't want extra space between
bullets you can use the option nolistsep. You can also
set specific list separation.

When I first started learning LyX (what -- about 10 years ago?), I very much
liked the name 'Evil Red Text'. It showed that the developers had a sense of
humor, and the professionality of the manuals and the program itself was in no
way impacted (in my mind) with the 'ERT'. A colleague of mine h

I don't think that's why it was called "evil". The evilness comes from the

Guys,
I am frustrated. I have installed Lyx using both the Alt version and

Basiscally things that did work on V1.6.1-1 now don't on V1.6.2-1. For
example with the Alt installer during install it cannot find the Miktex
