How would I do that and from where can I use the lyx2lyx conversion tool to convert my latest lyx files back into .23? Jürgen Jürgen, I don't think there is something wrong with lyx, but something fundamentally with my setup. It doesn't matter, which lyx file I open, even older ones, it is always complained about /tmp/lyx_tmpdir.cdYNZXaQcdMu/Buffer_convertLyXFormatlDWwUz.lyx ist kein lesbares LyX-Dokument. But I don't know how to continue the search for a reason I'll try to ask in the User Group Tuebingen, wheter they have an idea Is there a way to avoid the /tmp/lyx_tmpdir.cdYNZXaQcdMu/Buffer ??
