Sort order in the index

2021-07-20 Thread Andreas Plihal
Hi Herbert

how do I get XINDEX to become the index processor? Because it is not selectable with me.

With the tools I can choose:

	custom
	makeindex
	texindy
	xindy

I selected "custom" and entered "xindex" as the command.

But in the document settings I can select the following options:

	default
	makeindex
	texindy
	xindy

I selected "texindy" and entered "-L german-duden -C utf8" as the option.

Is that the solution you mean? Because it doesn't sound entirely logical and conclusive to me. But it works. Does it just work by chance?

Am I doing it right or is it awkward? You see how insecure I am.

Greetings

Andreas

Sort order in the index

2021-07-20 Thread Andreas Plihal
Now I have found the solution!

In order to implement the German Duden order in the subject index, I entered Document Settings > Index > Processor = texindy and Options = "- L german-duden -C utf8". Now it works fine!

Thanks for your help!

It is a limitation of the current yX version that you can not choose
xindex as _program_

As a result (unfortunately) my default setting - which Jürgen
Spitzmüller advised me some time ago - has become ineffective.
Now I get - after several indexless attempts! - finally my
"Sachregister" again. But the sorting is completely wrong. All umlauts
are output at the end. This does not correspond to the Duden regulations!

This is not possible with xindex, so I do not know what you are doing ...
xindex sorts by default Ö->O but with
xindex --config DIN2
it sorts with Ö->Oe

You could compile in cmake-environment.

The compiled package has about 30MB.

Wolfgang,

It is being developed, I think not even in beta. The latest (for the
Mac) is LyX 2.3.6.2 (2021-01-07)

LyX can export into lower versions but it's better to have the same
version with all collborators.

If you have homebrew it'll update itself by itself :-)-O. Otherwise,
read this newsgroup and look for the announcement. Perhaps even wait a
week or two after the announcement in case of a short term update being
required.

Once it's out just install it on top of 2.3.6(*). It is not a good idea
to have two different versions as 2.3.6 can't read 2.4 files only the
other way round.

Hi,

thanks for your suggestions.

Ad Herbert Voss:

I cannot select the index program xindex because it is not offered as a selection option.

Ad Joel Kulesza:

I wasn't sure how to create the index entries. I just entered \index{a@ä} etc. in the ERT. That didn't work. At first strange entries crept into the index: ü was suddenly under a. But since then the index has completely disappeared from the compiled PDF.inventory.

I am at a loss.
