That is why Kyroflux and Superboard Pro work. They are the drive controller and
In general it's not the drive but the controller that controls whether the
format is FM or MFM. Many PC controllers can do both FM and/or MFM no problem;
in fact, some formats use both on the same disk.
I don't see any fundamental reason why you couldn't read/write a TPDD disk on a
'standard'
Is Catweasel still around?

Hi Steve,
Very clever. I had used ASCII85 encoding before, but your approach
produces smaller data statements and the decoding is also smaller.

Or, for really evil results, you can execute your embedded code
in place - I think. I have'nt tried this on a MT, but it works a treat
on TI CC-40's & TI-74's, 8-bitters of a similar vintage. Of course
you have to keep track of where your code is in memory...

Hello!
I recently acquired a Model 200 and am ecstatic. It was in great shape and
works well. I installed a REX with no issues.
One thing I liked doing on my other system, a M102, is use TELCOM to
connect to a couple of BBSs. I have a Wifi232 modem and it has always
worked VERY well -- no
Unfortunately it only creates images with a TPDD2. If I ever get my
hands on a TPDD I'll modify it.

What Mike said. IIRC from 30+ years ago, the TRS-80 Model III could read
and write both FM and MFM. The issue with drives was the difference between
40 track and 80 track formatting. Because an 80 track head writes a
narrower track, using it to update a disk written by a 40 track drive was
likely
Instead of connecting to Wifi232 can you try wiring direct to a PC running
a terminal program w/ null modem cable?
My only guess is flow control settings on the Wifi232.

Kurt’s TPDD Client is a Windows program which can read/write disks from images
files using a TPDD2 connected to a serial port on the Windows PC. Looking at
his description of it, I now notice that he only mentions the TPDD2 (and he has
an image file of the TPDD2 Utility Disk available for
