Margaret I will try to answer your first question as I think this is the
easiest. I may even answer the second one as well.
1. Focus to the album grid using the usual VoiceOver navigation
commands, press command-a to select all then press delete.

Hi!
I notice than I can easily clear the various notification sections in the
Center using my Apple Bluetooth keyboard but can't find the various Clear
buttons when using the touch screen, am I missing something here?

Hello everybody
I haven’t been around for a while as I’ve been incredibly busy. But I wanted to
alert you all to an application which you may be tempted to buy.
Although this is a totally genuine application, it works very well as long as
you’re not a VoiceOver user. The configuration utility
If I'm not mistaken, there is a command to eliminate duplicate titles in iTunes.

Hi,
I’d sometimes like to make screenshots on my Mac to include them in blog posts,
for example if I describe how to perform some usefull things with Mac OS. I
know of cmd + shift + 3 to make a screenshot that will be stored on the

Correct. Command-shift-4 does not work with VoiceOver. I wonder if it's
possible to open the screenshot in the included iPhoto application?

Hello Lynne,
In February 2011 I contacted Objective Development, the Developers of Little

It's funny you should mention this, I used Command+Shift+4 today with VO and
succeeded in what I wanted.
Let me set the scene, as this may not work in all situations. I needed to find

The Developer has a legitimate concern. VO is a utility with fingers deep into
parts of the MacOS and thus must be considered a potential threat vector. I’ve
often wondered if Apple’s conservative approach to the development of VO is due
at least in part to security concerns.

Hello Christian,
Another option you might want to explore is the “VO Cursor screenshot.” In OS
10.9 it is possible to create a screenshot of whatever currently resides within
the VO Cursor. Here are two ways I know of to achieve this:
1. Press VO+HH to open the VO Commands Help menu, then
Not that I'd understand a word, but do we have documented evidence of this?
Again, not that I'd understand any of it as I'm no programer. lol!
I think that upon launch the app should detach if voice over is on and unable
it. This happens in one of the apps I play with on ios. its a game. and
The last time I did this, was in 10.6. and it only showed a button with out
the rest of the screen so although it could be helpful it is not really for
some of the devs who need the rest of the screen to put what ever I'm showing
in context.
Just my opinion and experience.
Tc all.

You can’t look at it and erase it at the same time.

Try the partition tab then. Select, 1 partition, from the popup menu,
unless you want more, and then make sure the format and partition scheme are
set. Find the, apply, button, and activate it.

This is why we run this group! Although at first I was reticent regarding the
assertion that VoiceOver constitutes a security threat. But I can actually see
where this is going because of applications such as TeamView which effectively
give other applications control of the Mac,
I have never used this app, but would like to as a question. I know this isn’t
a Windows list, nor a Windows screen reader list. But wouldn’t the same thing
be true for Windows screen readers? Are they in any way a security risk?

Hello Sarah,
While I can’t speak to how well the command works under 10.6, I can say I’ve
had some success using it under 10.9. The VO Cursor screenshot is, of course,
limited to the various levels of focus available to the VO cursor and thus

Yeah in my case I hardly if ever use that, but I'm glad it is there. . It is
a good tool if you need to send a screenshot to a developer. it's too bad it

Why go through all that inaccessible trouble when you could just use a
hardware firewall. Beside, in many ways, they can be more secure than a
software firewall.
OK, before you say not necessarily Chris, they're not always more secure.

Yes there is. Ironically, I just had this issue the other day.

effect. Check it, then hit ok. Now, put in your admin password to allow it
Totally agreed!
Why is it a security risk? I mean, let me guess, a cop it standing in your
home, and all a sudden Voiceover says: I shot the sherrif, but I did not
shoot the deputy?
Security risk!
then the cop handcuffs your mac?
OK, I'm being a smart ass. LOL! Seriously though.
Amen!

Hello Lynne,
I agree with your thought about the Developer adding an option to the Installer
to enable VO access. I used Little Snitch up until 2008 or 9 when I still had
enough vision, and I considered it a fantastic little tool and a helpful layer
of security. I wouldn’t mind having it
