Hello,
I have an iPhone 5S running IOS 8.0.2 which I sync to iTunes on my iMac. My
wife will shortly inherit an iPhone 4 which has been reset to factory settings
and which I recall will run IOS 7 but not IOS 8. She will want to manage this
from her Windows PC and so will install iTunes on that
Hi Paul,
Family sharing is an IOS 8 feature. Your wife can go ahead to create her own
Apple ID and password to set up the iPhone in her name. All she need to do
in order to use the apps you already purchased with your ID, is to go to
settings iTunes and logout and login with your Apple ID and

Hi!
Its been an interesting year what with one thing and another keeping me
occupied and away from my computers and other devices in the main, things are
calming down and sorting themselves out, just in time too given my Birthday

Hi Diane,
Thank you for you help but I have got it fixed now.
I did what Martin
suggested and everything is working fine.
Thanks again,

Changed the subject to reflect the discussion. I think the KNFB is
excellent also, however, I was really disappointed when I tried to scan my
new visa card and KNFB was unable to read it and announced that there was no
text. I also tried to scan my 4 digit code for use with the card but again
I have noticed some interesting behaviour from the KNFB Reader, I tried some
OCR work on a printed manual I have without success and I have to ask the
question, what's so wrong with this manual? Docuscan with the PC and Mac
doesn't seem to have too much trouble with it nor does K1000, Fine
Interesting because it did do a manual of mine but the strange thing was
that it did only about 10 lines of the page. The print appears very faint
to me but then that is nothing to go by. Just surprised it did not do the
whole page as I tried with single sheets of A4 as in a letter and it had
Hi Folks:
Any recommendations for an iPhone camera stand suitable for using the KNFB
reader?
Thanks all over the place.

It is said that books - and to me the manual is a small book - can cause
problems with shadow? Don't ask me but that's what I read, must consult the
book Getting The Picture which is a must for anyone who wants to put their
camera on their iPhone to good practical use.

As the subject line says I am new to mac I have had a iPhone for almost
three years. I like all others are finding a learning curve. But the
question that I am needing help on today is the app store. What do you do

At least on the Apple BT keyboard, you can press the top right key and when VO
says keyboard hidden, press any key and then the top right key again.

Hello,
While some have done very well without a stand, I have found the Giraffe Reader
to be a very useful accessory. I like that there is a platform at the bottom of
the stand on to which one can easily position a sheet. The camera looks
straight down on the sheet being scanned.

I'm using KNFB reader on my iPhone 5 and IOS 8.2. I was trying to read my Time
magazine. Although the app said all 4 corners were visible, the reader said
there was no text.
According to K1000 however, there was text. So, the reader has a ways to go to
replace K1000.

I guess I forgot about that new family sharing thing.
So what I wrote before would not be necessary.

Paul,
If she only uses your account, then all your apps will sync onto the iPhone
4.
Make sure that you uncheck the items like mail accounts in iTunes before
syncing it, so your account information is not in her mail, or she will be
getting all of your messages too.
And I don't think you will
I wonder if these problems might have to do with not enough contrast between
the item being scanned and the surface below it, and therefore, KNFB having
trouble zooming to the right point?
Just a guess, I don't have KNFB reader installed.

Have you read through the “getting started guide”, used keyboard help, taken
the quick start tutorial? They are all available by pressing VO+H (command
option H) on your mac. you’ll do yourself a great favour and answer most if not
all of your mac questions by taking those initial steps. If

Call me frugal or maybe just cheap, but I personally think this is one of
those instances where a DIY solution is worth considering. A cardboard box
of the right size can easily be cut, folded and customized to make a free
and flexible stand. Using KNFB’ Reader’s edge detection, it is
