Have you tried resetting all permissions from the recovery HD? You'd need to boot into it with command-r, and then after turning on VoiceOver, select, Terminal, from the Utilities menu. You would type, resetpassword as one word, and from that dialog, you can reset all of your permissions in

I should add that I have used Snowflake to search for, play and add stations to my favourites, one of my favourite stations 1010 WINS - the only station of its type in the world - I was able to find this with Snowflake, play it and its now in my favourites list. One station in Sydney
