thanks for this link again, Ann!
I had it bookmarked on my mac when I was running snow leopard, but lost it and
then couldn’t remember which paper it came from!
did you notice that they have a “blind/ps” version, at least of the quick
crossword?

Hello Caitlyn,
Yes, there’s the blind/PS version, but I think it just gives you the
information to set up the crossword on a crossword board, which is the way I
used to do them until the standard version became accessible. I like the fact
that I can check that I’ve got the right answer, and
Hello anne and will,
I too am a fan of the Guardian crosswords. I do them most days on my iPhone for
running 613. I also have a for S running the latest 7.04 release. However,
using the latest release on my for S the access ability of the Guardian
crossword has been broken. So, I'm glad that I
Hello Will,
The Guardian crosswords online are completely accessible. I do the cryptic
crossword most days on my Mac. You just need to set a Hotspot on the current
clue, press VO-Space to jump to the grid where you can check to see whether you
have any letters for the solution, and then jump

i know we have 4 down etc. but they are not taken from local media but rather,
from the developers own creative thinking

Hello Will,
The quick crossword is also accessible in the same way. Choose the standard
version and it should work just fine.
I haven’t tried these crosswords on my iPhone for ages. They used to be rather
tricky to do, but that was a couple of IOS versions back.
I haven’t looked for any other
anne at first i thought i had to set a web spot then re-read it and set a hot

necessarily the top clue VO space just reads clues out in a huge string of
text. i know i can work it out just baffled but want to get
Hello Will,
Try interacting with the clue to read the text more slowly. You set a Hotspot
before doing VO-Space to jump to the grid where you just start typing the
solution. You then jump back to the Hotspot to go to the next clue. I reuse the
same Hotspot all the way through.
Cheers,
Anne
ok anne no grid is present Vo just says pressed whn i VO space, so going to
tackle it again tomorrow

Hi!
I'm late in on this discussion and I know nothing whatever about crosswords so
not sure whether this information would be of help or practical.
I used to use a piece of software called Marsedit to edit my Blog back in the
days when I maintained one.
The same developers of Marsedit had a
Hello Will,
From the page I linked to, select the crossword you want and click on the
Standard version. A new page will open. Here, use the Web rotor to find the
first level 4 heading, the Accross clues. Without interacting with the clue,
press VO-Space to jump to the grid where you’ll be on
Okay, so I do not select the blind or partially sighted mode? Many thanks,

The first time you click on the colored balls (just a vo-space does
the trick) it will show as selected. Click again if you want them to
drop out.
That should do the trick.

Hello:
I find this a nice game, but I can't click on the balls. I find out which of
them have adjacent balls or the same coulor, but when I click any of them,
nothing happens. How do you click? I tried using Vo+space bar, clicking on the
trackpad and vo+shift+space bar. Any suggestions or what
I haven't heard of any, but it doesn't mean they don't. I haven't really
looked to be honest, but there aren't all that many accessible games/puzzles
etc for the mac out there which is annoying.

Hello Will,
The letters I'm talking about are the ones you've put in yourself earlier when
doing, say, the across clues.
I go through the cryptic crossword as quickly as possible putting in the
answers I can get easily, then I go through it again seeing what letters I
already have for the
