Has anyone played with this and how do you both record your voice and play a

I am finding this thread interesting. I was under the impression as a Mac

I know how to do this in Windows but how do I search a folder on the Mac,

Hello Eleanor,
The Finder is the application that manages the storage of files and folders
whatever the application that created them.
On a Mac, it is a bad idea to put lots of icons on the desktop as they all get
loaded into memory when the computer is booted and can therefore slow down the
Ah thanks Ann, then I was getting desktop and finder mixed up. Final
question here then, would I be wrong to make Aliases on the desktop? is it
best to put them on the dock or just leave in the documents folder?

It’s best to use the Dock for aliases. Personally, I don’t bother with them as
it’s so easy to locate any files or folders I want by using the first letter or
two of the name. I’m really pretty organised when it comes to storing files.
Also, don’t forget that it’s easy to reorganise the Dock so
I am planning a Podcast on using Spotlight to search for files in Finder
but essentially option command space will bring up a Finder search.
There are other options and customisations for different types of search
you can then do but I will go through these on the Podcast.

I appreciated that Ann but then one would not have files on the dark rather one

Hi, if I add a website to Top Sites then surely it should show up on my
second Mac. What do I need to do to ensure this is happening? My e-mails
for example show up on both.

Yep thanks, I’ve just tried this and it works as you stated though I haven’t
been able to test with a client yet, its just after half past 4 on Wednesday

You cannot play a recording back. that broke apparently in the gm build so
I've been told. but to record all you do in an imessage only is hit record
audio and talk, then hit stop recording when done, then send.

I scrolled down and read another post regarding how to listen to an audio

audio recording heading. Make sure Raise to Listen is checked. This is a

This is under ios, not osx. Osx yosemite is broken right now. I wrote to
apple about this the first day i used yosemite, and submitted the issue in
bug report format. It can be reproduced.
To be clear raise to listen is under ios. I can't imagine anyone holding a mac

I know that at one time on this list there was a key board chart but I don't
keep local archives and I don't want to go back through 3 years. I'll look in
my recycled messages folder and see if I saved it there.
Good luck.

Hello Andy,
You get accented letters by using the Option key with various letters.
Option-e - accute accent;
Option-i - Circumflex;
Option-u - diresis also known as umlaut;
Option-Accent sign - grave accent;
Option-q - OE diphthong.
Do you need any others?
