Hi Folks: I'm buying a new iMac and want to get an emulator. I'm tossing up between Open OSX and iEmulator. An experience or advice? I'm running a pre-MS version of Virtual PC at the moment, but, it won't run on OSX. I use it for MYOB accounting software. The Mac and PC versions of MYOB are

I would suggest getting iEmulator. I haven't used either but it seems from the screenshots that Open OSX is just a front for Bochs. I have used the open source Bochs and I got it to boot up Windows 98 but very slow, to the point that it took about ten minutes to boot. While I'm sure that Open OSX

win95. :) I am not very familiar with Windows. I use DOS and the emulators in much the same way that many people use games. It is really just recreation. The Mac OS and Windows OS are productivity systems and for me I am sure either would be fine, but I chose the Mac a long time back and have not found

iron then Bochs or BlueLable is a better emulator, however the precision of the emulation will result in MS systems running much slower than they do in the FWB/Insignia Solutions emulators. Does anybody have a copy of the 68K versions? How well did they work? It would be interesting to see

Matthew, the system 7.5.3 files you have are parts of a Disk Copy image. In order to use them with the emulator you'll probably have to use a copy Disk Copy to convert all of the pieces into one big image, and put that image back on the PC. Hope this works! Kerry --
