Easiest way, go to the TimeMachine icon in the header of your screen, choose
Enter Time Machine, the screen will morph into the land of far away. Use the
scale on the right to go back in time to a date where you can find the mailbox.
Highlight it and at the bottom of your screen click
I don't use TimeMachine. Instead I have an external HD that I backup to. The
folder I want is there but I can't figure out how to get it back on my iMac.

OK I've got the mailbox I want on my backup external HD. How do I move that

Yes, but it won't have my most recent. I will move what's there back to my iMac.
