I use a 1 gig "mini mac" core duo, and develop/run JayOS on it. Only
nneed to reboot into OS X to burn bootable HFS CDs, but that's only a
temporary condition :)
Note that JayOS does not completely sup

There is a driver called Ext2FS that is able to access ext2 filesystems
from within OS X.
Because of its unfortunate name, it is *very* hard to find. The latest
version I have is named Ext2FS_1.4d1.dmg. I'll send it separately to
you Jerome so I don't clutter up the list.

With the 2.6.17.13 kernel, you *can* mount HFS+ partitions without
explicitly turning off journalling from within OS X.
To backstep a little, I can't verify right now that my HFS+ partitions
created under OS X are journaled, but I'm pretty sure they are.
I mount my HFS+ filesystems with the optio
I have rebooted to verify, and for the record, kernel 2.6.17.13 (and
later I assume) *is* able to write to journaled HFS+ filessytems.

Have you tried updating your firmware?
I am inherently suspect of the legacy boot stuff. I suppose those who
use it have their reasons, but I'm all for moving ahead and leaving the
old bios behind!
The legacy boot option has always failed with my refit configuration

Hi Vincent,
Sounds like a bug report to me :)
Suggestions? Why not downgrade to 2.6.17 and lick your wounds while
developers find what's amiss?
YMMV but I've found 2.6.17.13 to be the most stable of kernels
supporting Apple hardware
They don't call it the bleeding edge for nothin'! :)

Do you have EFI support enabled in the kernel?
Try grepping /usr/include/* for efi_enabled in case there is a missing
include file somewhere.

Try passing the kernel option video=imacfb:macbook on boot. Then
rejoice ;)
Also of use are:
video=imacfb:i17
video=imacfb:i20
video=imacfb:mini
