Hi Yuma,
I posted details on using ClickToFlash to the list in my posted
suggestions to Eleni on ways to sort her MacBook problems:

To briefly summarize, the instructions on how to use this plug-in are
given on the
Hi Anne,
I'm wondering if you could say more about the Tab key in Safari? In
previous messages you have recommended that new users not use it, and
I have tried to follow that advice. However, I've also found that
there are situations when I can navigate to places with the Tab key,
that
Hi Donna,
I have found that using VO command J produces better, more consistent, results
than using tab when trying to navigate a page by its control elements like,
edit fields, buttons, etc. This along with VO command L to navigate by links,
has made surfing the web on my Mac a lot more
If you are talking about VO parameters, they are not affected by unloading and
reloading as far as I know. The last settings adjusted are remembered. I find
that using SnowLeopard, I can generally hit the spacebar on buttons and most of
the time, that activates the available choices.

Hi Ester,
This is good information, as when I first looked for the Click to Flash menu in
Safari, I could not find it. After your e-mail, I went to a page with flash
content, and there it was. That answered a question I was going to ask about
how to access the Click to Flash menu!

Donna, obviously, I'm not Ann. I resisted using the tab key for a while, but
now prefer it in certain situations. The other day, I was on the CNN FN site
and wished to get a mutual fund quote. The tab key placed me right on the edit
field for the symbol I wanted to key in. Sometimes I use
Hi list,
So here i am digging into all aspects of programming, loving it like a new
challenge, or passion, or third arm whatever the term. I've purchased books,
installed apps, and have been a nightmare to my girlfriend as i barely sleep at
night. It's like a brand new toy and realm of binary
The problem in this situation is that the standard procedure for
diagnosis of faults hasn't been followed.
Idealy, the system should have been formatted and reinstalled, tested,
updates installed, tested ... you get the picture.
Since this hasn't been done, its going to be pretty hard to isolate

Hi Darcy and list,
I played a little with radioshift within the last days and was quite impressed,
because of the ability to record multiple streams the same time. But I noticed
a problem with urls, not listed in the guide. External urls that are definitely
working don't work in radioshift.
Since getting my MacBook Pro 13, I rarely use my MacBook 13 anymore. So, my
wife moved onto it yesterday. I created a separate user account for her. At
the login dialogue, I need to hit COMMAND+F5 to get VO to come on after
restarting the computer. When I chose my account VO is their
Hi Ricardo,
Can relate to the elevated blood pressure and--in my case, greying--
hair. *grin* I haven't tried using Vo-J in Safari. For whatever
reason, that just didn't occur to me. I'll play around with it, and
see how things go. I'm still curious about the Tab key though. It's
Hi Les,
Well, glad I'm not the only one who's developed a preference for the
Tab key, at least, as you said, in certain situations. I know what
you mean, there are times when I've been looking around for something
and not finding it, and then, when I use the Tab key, I often find it
Hi, Michael, I was able to play the stream by adding it to radioshift as a
subscription and pressing the listen now button.

Hello Donna,
You can choose the behaviour of the Tab key in Safari by going to the Advanced
tab in Safari Preferences. I have Option-Tab set to highlight every item on a
web page, which means that Tab alone will go to the next editable field if I
have already interacted with HTML Content, or

How do I get VO to automatically speak the login prompt?
Go to the Apple Menu and select System Preferences. Select Accounts, and then
select Login Options.

I use a combination of the tab key, Web item rotor, and arrow keys on the
Internet. In most cases, the tab key is easier for me to use when accessing
Anne,
Thanks for the info. However, I don't think that the problems I described is
flash related. It has to do with voiceover group mode.
Thanks.

I use Groups mode most of the time and have no problem with it. I only use DOM

Hi Anne,
I'm glad you aren't having any problems. I, on the other hand, definitely am
in the situations I previously described.
My pop-up blocker stays off.

Hi Ann,
I went into Safari and my advanced setting matches what you described to Donna.
It's a checkbox and on my system is checked and highlights items when the tab
key is pressed. Thanks.

Hi Anne,
I also have my Tab key set to highlight every item on a web-age. Off-
hand, I can't describe a specific instance where tab has taken me
somewhere that the arrow keys didn't, but it's happened on Facebook,
it's happened in the Itunes store, and I think other sites as well.

A few more Safari preference settings. I have history items deleted after one
month and download list items removed when Safari quits. These are in the
General tab.
