I suspect there is some mention within the wider help menu, perhaps someone
on the list with more expertise can jump in here. As for the accuracy it

NOt sure if this'll give you entirely what you need, but vo+shift+M on the
.plist file, and choose open with, right arrow to expand that sub-menu. Then
choose other… and from the applications list, choose TextEdit. You should be
able to read the information in there.

The PLIST files are usually XML files, so you would just need an XML editor
or word processor that can handle XML.
