Since upgrading to iOS 13.1, and then the subsequent smaller upgrades, I have noticed a problem with not being able to navigate by line within the compose area of an email message. For example, dictate a small message that consist of a paragraph or so. Listen to voice over read your message

Dave, I’m using an iPhone ten r, and I use a single finger drag down from the top to open the control center. I was only suggesting if you couldn’t find the status bar on the home screen, then you can always get it in the control center, but evidently you’re working with an iPhone 8 and you

But, Phil…don’t you first have to find the status bar before you can do a three-finger upward swipe to open the Control Center? Since I found the status bar in the first place, it makes no sense to then open the Control Center. It’s a Catch-22. Dave Carlson Musician, Engineer, Farfar,

Hi, Not sure how you turned VoiceOver all the way off. It sounds to me more like the gesture turned speech off. A three-finger double-tap toggles speech on/off when VO is on, and the three-finger triple-tap toggles screen curtain on/off. I can see why you called 911 as when you go to power

Dave, if you want to find the status bar, you can go into control center and then start flicking left from the airplane mode feature which I believe is where you land when you come into control center. Just to the left of airplane mode will be found the status bar including cellular Wi-Fi time
