Hi all
Well I am not in the US either and I can tell you that the BBC has
featured a piece on the American Authors' Guild and their dog in the
manger attitude to this.
Some authors have been mentioned in the course of this discussion. Can
any of them be persuaded to speak out against this
Hi all
I first cane across this when I looked into the speech on the Kindle
itself, when it first came out with that function and couldn't believe
the attitude of the Authors' Guild. It seems to me, if you buy a book,
it shouldn't matter a damn whether you want to access the text by
looking at a
Hi Bill and Colin
I've also been having trouble with spellcheck in mail on Lion, usually
OK in SL. What I have found is that when you check before sending, you
used to be able to press escape to exit the spellcheck, for example,
when you realised the check had progressed down to the earlier
Hi all
It's not just people with hearing impairments who have trouble with
these audio captchas. They are, generally speaking, of appalling
quality. The ones which contain a sentence, as opposed to unrelated
words and numbers, are a little easier, but really, how can any site
think they are fit
Hi all
I just got an email from the support fro this app and he doesn't know
about how it might work with Voiceover, but he is going to have a look
and see how it works with VO if and anything can be improved I said
I'd be happy to test anything out.

Hi people,
So how would saving an Audible book to an SD card work? Would you be
able to do that without messing around with start times?
I'd would also like to copy a 13 hour radio series, which I have on
CD, to an SD card. My guess would be, from reading this conversation,
that I should make it
Hello
I just asked Apple Accessibility that very same question and this is
what they said. To remove a Desktop - When you have the VoiceOver
cursor in the Spaces list, begin interacting and then use VoiceOver to
navigate to a desktop you wish to delete. Press VO-cmd-f2 and then
press return.
Glad it works.

Guys,
I am fed up of audio captcha. My Member of Parliament currently has a
question in to the UK Prime Minister about use of audio capcha on
government websites. I know it's a drag, but we need to challenge
these things every time we come across them. I was on a site the other
day which had a

You can also switch it on and off via VO HH, the commands help menu
under general commands.
I haven't found that screen curtain affects VO. I keep it switched on
on my iPhone, but usually only put it on my MBP if I'm in a meeting
and don't want my neighbour to see what I'm writing:)

You could try Mobile Twitter, there should be a link in the web item

Hello
I tried OO a couple of years back when I was having trouble working on
a common document with a sighted friend who was using Word on a fairly
old Windows OS and wasn't all that tech minded. It worked well for
that purpose, although I preferred Text Edit as a much simpler way of

Hello
I too had an exchange of emails with the author. He said that the
version which was about to come out was probably going to be better, I
think it was.2. Haven't checked the site for couple of weeks to see if
it's up there yet, but you can reach it by googling Scrivener.
The author did say
I am really keen on drag and drop, but find it sometimes doesn't work
and it says something like the item may be hidden, for no obvious
reason.

Hi
I was missing the visited and non-visited links from the SL version of
the rotor, So was pleased to find I could add these categories to the
Lion rotor. However, VO doesn't speak what the links are to. Am I
doing something wrong? There doesn't seem to be much point in being
able to add these
Hello
Unless there is something else I've not come across before, in which
case how dumb am I? I think you can get the manual in the VO + H
menu under getting Started Guide.
BTW Lion pretty painless so far. A few oddities, but the drag and drop
is great. It was the one thing I still really
