Unzipping a .brf file

For the first time in a long time I am trying to read a braille book on a braille display. I downloaded a book from BARD and my display acts like it is not there. How do I unzip the book on the Mac? I forget.. -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries

I hate to acknowledge this but I am old enough to be applying for Medicare. On the Social Security site the very first question offers two selections: 1. I am applying for myself and 2 I am helping someone else. I cannot select one. I have tried spacebar, VO spacebar and enter but to no avail.
