Hi.
I think I have done a mistake. I bought dragon dictate 4 for the mac. It looks
accessible to me, but I am not able to choose language, i thought it would work
with other languages than english.
Can anybody help.
Best regards Annie.

Yes, you can navigate with it. In fact it has hundreds of commands for each of
your applications that allow you to execute various commands. I believe you can
even create your own.

And all this is accessible, right? How does Voiceover handle things like word
suggestion lists, things that Wiondows screen readers need special scripts to
understand? On web pages, can you move around with commands like next

I'd love to know what you did then. I installed a trial of Dragon a few weeks
ago, opened it up, and Voiceover hardly even saw that a window was there. I
could configure nothing, there were no instructions, nothing. Yes, I enabled it
in my security settings.
As to screen navigation, I know

Thanks. I'm not even talking about training, though - I cannot dictate
anything. I cannot see how to start or pause dictation, access settings, or
anything else. My understanding was that the trial is a time-limited version of
the full program, so in theory I should have full access to all
Did you allow access to the accessibility features of your computer? In
security settings, select privacy, then Accessibility, and check Dragon
Dictate. This fixed it for me.

A question to Dragon users: can you navigate? In Windows, for instance, you can
say press button or move up four or press tab. Can Dragon on the mac do
this kind of thing, or is it restricted to dictation only?

Hello All,
Dragon is launching a new dictate software for Mac. There is an introductory
price of US $99.99. My question for the list is: With the ability dictate and
navigate the Mac via speech, what would be the avantages in investing in
Dragon? One feature that caught my attention was the
Hi there
I have not used Dragon, but my first reaction to this is that the dictation on
the Mac is good enough that I would want a lot of benefit more before I would
want to spend $99 for it. I find the one that already comes with Mavericks to
be pretty accurate. Do they let you have a trial
Ditto. Not that I use dictation but $99 is just wow expensive for
something that can be done at no additional charge.

Interesting, I believe the ScanSoft speech recognition is the basis for both
speech recognition systems. Given that Mac Dictate can now be loaded directly
on the Mac for continuous speech recognition, Dragon would most likely only be
beneficial if one needed to use more granulated Command and
Dragon for Mac v3.x is inaccessible, even the company admits to that. I haven't
tested out v4 yet. Still, if it lacks things like voice commands to move around
and edit text, or move up and down menus and tables, I don't see the point. For
straight dictation, the Mac does well. That said,

I have Dragon, but it totally freezes my Macbook Air, so I don't use it very
often. I would use it more though if it would work better.
