firefox doesn't work with VO at all. about the most you can expect is access to
the pulldown menus. the scroll area just says scroll area and VO will not
read anything displayed there. my last go around with FF was 5 months ago and
it was not usable for me at all.

Thunderbird is built on the some of the same codebase as Firefox so it
is also not accessible with voiceover. That also implies that fixing

You are accurate with respect to the Mozilla apps although I open tabs in
Safari all the time simply by pressing cmd-return on the given link. Sometimes
I need to interact a level down but I'd have to do that to press the link with
VO-space anyway.
