Jonathan, thanks for the info. What I can’t understand is how it changed in the last 2 weeks? Yes I can work around by deleting the account and subsequently adding the account again if I need to update a setting, but this is a long way around a change of password for each account for example.

Hi, This can be caused by either hardware failure of the drive itself, or corrupted formatting that causes bad sectors on the drive. In the first case, you are usually out of luck and cannot recover data, other than bits and pieces. In the second case, do as they say. Get yourself a second

Hi Daniela, In my experience, Mars Edit from Red Sweater Software is a god-send when it comes to WordPress. Incredibly accessible and you can sswitch between HTML and rich text with one easy key stroke. It's a paid program but definitely a worthwhile addition to any blogger's workflow.
