Sounds like you got the same infection my parents did. I still haven't
rooted it all out but whatever you do, don't call the number or give
them your credit card.

Here is what's i did
1. Turn off network or unplug if you are using wired ethernet.
2. Exit safari and then go back into safari.
3. Close every window in safari.
4. Reconnect the network.

My choice is Clamsav, which is free in the Mac App Store. I know there are a

Safari is not usable at all now, because it is always busy. Before this
happened, it slowed down a great deal and every few minutes a window would come
up that said I had some problem. Sometimes it was a virus, sometimes a Windows
PC warning, but always something that I should attend too. Are th

Hello. Try webkit. This is a few months at least ahead of safari and most of
the time more stable.

I have used Web Kit for a very long time now and believe me, it is no trouble
to install. You just download it and place it in your applications folder
like you would any other app. Don't let any fears of installation stop you
from using Web Kit. It really does work very well.

Hi.
I am having problems with Safari.
I can't open any website without Safari quitting. I have cleared all the
history. I only formatted my Mac Book Pro a week ago so have not been on
Safari often. Safari is always crashing and Voice over always reporting it
busy.

Yep looks like it is only the google main page that causes problems not the
tool bar. I dunno what's up. but I would thorugh the safari menu report this
bug to apple so they can look at it and perhaps report to google about it.
Remember tp explain what conditions it is under in the edit text fie
Hmm. I thoguht google fixed the update issue? or I thought they were aware of
it? Ok?

What worked for me is to search using the https version of Google. Enter
https://www.google.com and try it out.

One thing I found that helped was to sign into Google with my Google ID and
tell it to keep me signed in. I don't know if this will help in the long term,
but it did help when I did that just recently. Of course, if you don't have a
Google ID, that won't help unfortunately.

Hi all
I'm having the same problem in Safari, but it is most definitely not limited to
Google. I downloaded and installed Webkit, this has reduced the problem
significantly. Incidently, I encountered the problem after the latest version
of Safari was installed, perhaps coincidence.
Cheers,
Paul
I'm not having any problems at all with Safari and Google.
I press Command-Option-f to get to the Google search field, enter my terms and
press Return.
When I hear the page load, I press VO-Command-l 3 times to get to the first
result.
I have web navigation set to Groups mode. I do this endles
Yup. I was able to reproduce. Latest Safari on the search results page
causes voiceover to crash and restart over and over. Webkit nightly
build works fine. So it sounds like it isn't necessarily a Google or
Voiceover issue but rather some bug in Safari.

For some reason, you can still do a google search from the search widget. It
looks like it loads the exact same page of results, but doing it from the
Google page sure makes VO unhappy.

Hi Alison.
I've just had such a crash with Safari and Google! Guess I'll have to use
Windows to do my search then.

Hi Pete,
I found out that in trying to do a search with Google VO will quit and restart.
I found the only way to do a search on google is to use Webkit. I hope that
helps. I thought this bug was fixed with the release of the new Safari, but I
guess not. I hope I've been of some help. Have a g
I know google is going through an update to there page. did you try a refresh
of the page to see if that helped? if not try it in webkit found at
www.webkit.org.
Take care.

Good day,
I have been able to use google until this morning. After editing
one's search criteria VO comes back with an empty window. Has something
changed so that google is no longer accessible?
Thanks in advance.
