Dear EJ,
I hope things are going well with you. I looked at the site and I had
no problems navagating it. Voiceover worked very well with the site.
I hope this helps.
Blessings,

Everett, I gave it a short test as well and it seems to work very well.

Hi,
But if it is introduced in SL, Leopard users won't get it. What I
prepose is that the FF team use my hack for Leopard and possibly
native support in SL.
Thanks,

Good afternoon,
Nice to know that there is a way to cause an application to speak.
But, as far as accessibility goes, it is, as Alex mentioned, a hack.
It would be nice if there was a way to notify UA that an application
has an updated region that requires announcement / monitoring.
Thank
I suspect they are using the mac speech synthesis manager method called

I can try to find out if you really want to know.

Hello all,
The actual support for ARIA in Yahoo! Search at www.ysearch.com is on
the search results page. However, as Chris already pointed out,
Safari4 does nto support live regions so you will not be able to fully
enjoy the sweetness of web 2.0 interaction. You can still enjoy
shortcut keys that
Good afternoon,
Does this hack involve the API or something similar, or using the
system voice?
Thanks,

Hmm. The AOL AIM client speaks incoming text if you turn that option on
in preferences so I would suspect any application can do it. The only
limitation of the VO APIs I know of is that you can't detect if VO is on
or not which is probably a nod to Apple's Universal Design philosophy.

Hi,
There is a hack to alert the OS that something needs to be spoken. It
is this loophole that the VIP-Toolkit makes use of.
Thanks,

Good afternoon,
I believe, from what I have read about Firefox accessibility
challenges, that implementing aria live region support in any browser
will require changes to be made to the Apple accessibility API. There
is currently no way for applications to "alert" the OS that something

The main thing I'm looking for in an ARIA enabled browser is support for
live regions. This is where a spot on the page is set up such that any
changes to that spot are automatically announced. This is a great way to
implement web-based chat, stock tickers and other real-time data feeds.

Good morning,
Just briefly tested http://search.yahoo.com/ with Safari 4 beta's ARIA
support. I didn't spend much time on the site, but the search
suggestions were accessible.
1. Go to the site
2. Navigate to the search field
3. Type in part of a search query
4. Use VO + Up and Down arro
