Assuming the remaining hardware is good, have you done resets on the SMC and PRAM for your model? Certainly the former is likely to help with fan problems. You should be able to disconnect all power to the machine, wait a few moments, then reconnect it. -- The following information is

basically, it aged. most Lithium Ion batteries start to swell a little with age. It also doesn't help if its left on recharge all the time. The battery for this white book was the original issue and started swelling about 2 years ago. It got to the point where it was causing random keyboard key
