Yes, this is the what happens. You can monitor the progress of the download
via the purchases button in the toolbar. Also, the installer will open
automatically when the download finishes.

Has anyone yet been able to figure out where in the heck the app store actually
puts the installer for Lion? What if I wanted to back the installer up on a
dvd? Is the installer not a .app file etc?
