I use the spacebar to stop and start an audio file. It seems to work
for me.
There are several techniques that people use with a Mac computer to
get to a new window. If it is an application window, command+tab. But
I assume that in your case command+tab doesn't work. If there's more
are you running vista or xp in the virtual machine? reason I'm asking,
I will try and duplicate your issue with my stream.
i'm wondering if the mass storage driver in fusion is confused somehow.

When I run my Mac without Fusion and Windows running, all the shared
folders I would expect show up when I choose Shared from the sidebar.
However, if Windows is running, the only thing that shows up in Shared
is Anna-87E66B357F. I looked in Settings on the Fusion Virtual Macines

machine, there is buttons for battery, printer, and so on. there is a
usb devices button, make sure that the inable usb 2.0 is checked, and
connect usb devices is also checked.

If your utility is command-line based, but shell scriptable, you might
be able to wrap it in an Automator workflow. Automator lets you run
shell scripts and AppleScripts as individual actions in the workflow.
There may be better solutions that others can suggest, though.
