Hi,
It may, but with the slow-downs that he's experiencing even with an internal
drive, I don't believe a NAS would improve things.

Hi Jeff,
I stand corrected. Sorry. I should have checked more carefully before posting
that. My 2011 15" MBP only has the USB 2 ports, so I assumed the 2012 did too.
That's what I get for making assumptions.
My setup is similar to yours except I created a Fusion array with the 7200 RPM
Hi.
Trying to connect a new HD to my Airport Express. I did manage to get to
the Airport Utility HD section, but just once. Now I can't get back. I
failed to connect the first time. Any help directing me how to do this
would be much appreciated.

Hi,
If things haven't changed since my last check, even when you have it set to not
copy to your iTunes Library, it will actually attempt the copy when importing
from an external drive. If that drive happens to be a USB drive, then it will
probably be quite slow on that machine as I believe
Hi Tim and E.T.,
I have my audio books library on a second hdd in my 2012 15-inch
macbook pro. I have itunes preferences set to not copy. The way I add
books to itunes is to launch itunes, hit command+o and point the file
browser at my library. Itunes then goes into saying busy busy busy for
Just did this last night when I finished some Audiobook Builder
projects, 10 gigs worth. Took about 5 minutes to copy to the
Automatically Add folder then opened iTunes and it was done.
I agree that breaking the 1 tb into smaller pieces is better. The
Mac may need some tine outs to cool
Hi,
What process are you using to import the AudioBooks? I just tested mine for
fun, by importing 18 GB of AudioBooks, about 180 titles. The copying from the
Desktop into the "Automatically Add to iTunes" folder took about 10 minutes or
so, but other than that, iTunes did not cough or burp
Hi,
I believe that the key combination you are trying to use should be ctrl+option
instead of the cmd+option you mentioned. As mentioned, there are also other
key combinations that can be used including cmd-o which is a built-in MacOS
keyboard shortcut.

When you are in application folder, the way to open an application is to either
press command+down arrow, or command+o. When you want to open an application
from the dock, then you press enter.
Hope this helps.
